ParkingPal began as an extracurricular project at a Startup Weekend at LMU, where a team of nine passionate individuals worked together to bring the idea to life. Today, I’m the sole founder, driven by my vision to make parking smarter and more efficient. As an international student from Portugal, I’m dedicated to transforming parking from a daily inconvenience into a seamless experience. My mission is to use technology to improve urban life, reduce traffic, and contribute positively to society. With a deep passion for innovation, I aim to create a lasting impact through ParkingPal.

Our App

Our app makes finding parking easy and efficient. Using the location feature, you can view available parking spots near you, including details such as distance, pricing, and the type of spot. You can filter results by preferences like price or spot type. Simply enter your location and set a mile radius to find the best options. Additionally, the app shows estimated wait times for spots to become available, ensuring you can plan ahead. It’s designed to help you save time and park with ease.

Our product is a smart meter attachment featuring advanced ultrasonic sensors that provide instantaneous updates on parking spot availability. Compatible with existing parking meters, each unit costs $80, including installation. These sensors transmit real-time parking data to our app, operating 24/7. They collect valuable data that traditional meters don’t, helping to optimize parking space usage. This not only fills spots more efficiently, increasing ticketing revenue, but also boosts local business traffic and improves overall driver efficiency. With our solution, cities can enhance parking management while benefiting the community.
